古巴从植物中提取治疗癌症和艾滋病药物

新华网哈瓦那４月５日电（记者刘彤）古巴卫生部门５日宣布，该国已开始批量生产一种用热带植物蒜臭母鸡草提取物制成的药物，并将它作为治疗癌症和艾滋病的临床药物使用。
古巴卫生部门当天在古巴首都哈瓦那举行的新闻发布会上介绍说，这种药物有助于提高癌症和艾滋病患者的免疫力。目前，它已经通过了临床试验和毒性试验，并在临床治疗中显示出较好效果。
据介绍，该药已由古巴一家药厂批量生产，可年产１６万片药片。古巴卫生部门表示，希望能吸引资金进一步扩大这种药物的产量，以供更多医院使用并实现出口。
蒜臭母鸡草是一种在古巴较常见的热带植物，当地居民常把它作为草药用于抗痉挛、镇痛、利尿和发汗，并用它治疗皮肤炎症、关节炎等。
