为何中电信一直缺席亚洲移动通信大会?

2009年亚洲移动通信大会于11月18日-11月19日，在香港会议展览中心举行。从内地的媒体报道可以看出，这是中国移动王建宙和中国联通常小兵的舞台，TD-LTE、WCDMA、iPhone、物联网等热门词语成为主旋律。唯一令人遗憾的是，缺少中国电信王晓初、CDMA以及天翼的声音。不过，由于“标准”不同，中国电信连续几年都没有参加这个论坛。
在中国进入3G时代以后，这个大会仍然沿袭“GSMA移动通信亚洲大会” 不仅缺少了以CDMA2000标准中国电信的支持，失去了中国一个电信巨头，从侧面也反映了主办方对亚洲电信业尤其是中国格局的缺乏了解。
第一，从2009年1月7日，中国3张3G牌照发放之后，中国电信已经开展全业务运营了，已经是全球电信市场一个无法忽视的力量。尽管在300天以来，用户才发展了4000多万，这可能比亚洲整个新加坡所有移动用户还要多，而且，天翼势头很猛。虽然从中国联通接过来一张伤痕累累的破网，天翼品牌大有虚张声势之嫌，但是，在3G时代依然是最被看好的一家运营商。
第二，公开信息显示,全球CDMA用户超过了5亿，在过去12个月,亚太区新增1870万户cdma2000用户,市场份额占到全球cdma2000市场的53%，中国、印度和印度尼西亚是推动cdma2000增长的重要力量。未来五年内，GSMA移动通信亚洲大会一直不修改名称，兼容cdma2000，其实失去的不仅仅是中国的三分之一市场，也失去了印度等市场。会议的关注度和在移动通信领域的权威性大打折扣。
第三，在这次大会上，无论是TD还是物联网还是iPhone，媒体表面上看，关注度很高。但是更多的是关注明星人物王建宙、常小兵。而二者代表了全球最大运营商在移动领域的见解，影响着亚洲乃至世界最重要终端厂商以及产业链的未来发展动向。没有中国电信的“搅局”，势必成为“一言堂”，无论从娱乐角度还是从产业高度看，都是不完美的。
中国移动通信市场很大，目前手机用户超过了7亿，尤其是中国移动超过了5亿。无论是物联网还是iPhone，只要王建宙打个喷嚏，众多参会者无不感冒,联通引入了最牛的上网手机iPhone，常小兵当然喜形于色，谁知，王建宙再次提出要引入iPhone；而此前被中国移动炒得热闹的物联网被常小兵称颂。这些，对中国电信来说，也需要同样的话语权。所以，中国电信要极力改变“雷声大、雨滴小”的3G攻势。在国际舞台上赢得一个露脸的机会!
如果五年后，GSMA亚洲会议仍然是中国移动和中国联通在玩，那中国电信不陪她玩也罢!
