术前为何要查艾滋病

8月29日，一篇关于《台大医院将艾滋器官移植给5名患者》的报道，引得当地多名患者人心惶惶。手术前艾滋病检查是俗称的“术前四项检查”之一，目的是确诊患者是否术前患有或感染了这种病，但许多病人或家属往往难以理解，主要表现在三个方面：
1.我是来做手术的，为什么要给我做艾滋病检测呢？
2.是行为不端的人才会得的病，不少患者将其视作对自己人格的莫大侮辱，闻之暴怒，无法理解。
3.认为医院是为了多收费而设的收费项目。
那么，究竟要不要查艾滋病？该不该查艾滋病？您了解了以下艾滋病感染的知识，就不会有上面三个疑问了。
艾滋病除通过性传播外，还有母婴传播、血液传播。在这三种传播途径中，血液传播是感染艾滋病最直接的途径，医源性传播又是艾滋病血液传播途径之一。近些年来，传统的由性交、毒品注射引起的艾滋病病例占总的感染人数的比例在不断下降，但是与之相对应的医源性感染，如手术、输血等引起的病例却在不断上升。
血液传播是感染HIV最直接的途径，如输入被病毒污染的血液，尤其是“窗口期”的血液(即献血者已被病毒感染，但还未出现抗体的阶段所献血液，不能被现有的检测手段查出)；使用了被污染而又未经严格消毒的医疗器械，包括注射器、针灸针、口腔科器械、妇产科的接生用具以及外科手术用的刀子、剪子、钳子等。
“术前四项检查”是国家规定进行的病原学检查，设立术前四项检查（艾滋病、梅毒、乙肝、丙肝），是为了切断医源性感染，对住院病人的健康防护及法律保护具有重要意义。病人输血或术后发现感染艾滋，是手术中感染的还是术前已被感染的？如果术前做过四项检查，责任就很明确了。
