从大规模协作的角度看，“维基”不只是内容，我更愿意说它根本就是一个系统、就是一个虚拟组织。而《维基经济学》的作者在他的网站上是这样定义的：

“维基是一种“媒介”，任何人都可以编辑和接触。而且每一页和其它页面，都很容易地被链接。维基就是典型的大规模协作的网站。现在也可以由单个用户在离线的状态下操作。第一个维基程序的编写者Ward说，“可以工作的、最简单的在线数据库”。”--wikipedia.org
