　　台山市疾病预防控制中心是实施疾病预防控制与公共卫生技术管理和服务职能的机构。它的前身是台山县卫生防疫站，成立于1956年4月。2003年3月，根据国家卫生体制改革精神，组建成立台山市疾病预防控制中心和卫生监督所，同时加挂台山市卫生检验中心牌子。2008年7月1日，台山市疾病预防控制中心与台山市卫生监督所分离。

　　多年来，台山市疾病预防控制中心遵循“预防为主、防治结合”的卫生工作方针，开展了一系列疾病防治工作，克服了各种疾病的传播，消灭了天花、丝虫病和疟疾，连续多年无“非典”、禽流感、霍乱等重大传染病发生，守护着人民的健康，筑起坚固的“防疫大堤”。

　　为台山市民健康保驾护航

　　“十一五”期间，台山市疾病预防控制体系不断完善，疾病预防控制能力大幅提升，未发生重大传染病大规模流行。

　　以维持高水平免疫接种率为目标，狠抓适龄儿童计免建卡、建证、接种工作。目前，台山市第一类疫苗已实施免费接种，周岁儿童建册率和“六苗”全程接种率均达标：流动儿童的计免工作成绩理想，自2007年以来“六苗”基免率保持在82%以上，其中2010年达90%以上，基本维持在较高水平。

　　对台山市餐饮业、集体食堂等食品消费环节的相关食品开展卫生监测。2007年以来，该市21类食品卫生监测合格率保持在84%以上，食具卫生监测合格率保持在86％以上。

　　认真贯彻落实《职业病防治法》，在台山全市范围内开展生产场所职业病危害的监测工作。2007年至2010年共监测工厂企业830间。

　　医务人员坚持把人民群众身体健康放在第一位，为市民和从业人员提供可靠的健康检查和诊疗服务，并经常放弃休息时间，上门为厂企职工提供保姆式的健康体检服务。

　　对台山全市食品、公共场所、生活饮用水及职业病危害因素等进行卫生检测。同时，面向社会积极开展委托性卫生检验。2004年11月获得广东省卫生监督检验检测机构资质，2006年11月获得广东省职业卫生技术服务资质，2006年12月通过计量认证，具有先进的检验设备和检验水平。

　　开展健康宣传教育，

　　构筑“防疫大堤”

　　根据不同季节的防病需要和有关卫生节日、宣传日、纪念日等，台山市疾病预防控制中心坚持开展常规的宣传教育活动和预防甲流、狂犬病、手足口病等的应急宣传，通过出版宣传专栏，举办宣传、咨询、展览活动、知识讲座，编印、发放宣传资料，利用“农信通”短信平台发送健康短信，通过网站、广播电视媒体宣传等方式开展全民健康教育，2007年以来共编印发放卫生宣传资料166万多份，举办讲座、咨询、展览等活动54次，并且积极开展“亿万农民健康促进行动”，提高了市民的健康知识水平和健康意识。

　　全面提高市民防疫水平

　　多年来，台山市疾病预防控制中心不断加强中心专业人员的继续教育，提高专业人员素质。对照省、市下发的继续医学培训项目，该中心结合实际情况派出专业技术人员参加各种学术会议、学术讲座、专题讲座会、研讨班、讲习班、长期和短期培训和进修。4年以来，累计派送培训200人次左右。

　　为全面提高广大干部职工和普及防疫人员应对突发公共卫生事件能力及专业技术水平，该中心先后组织举办了人禽流感监测技术、甲型H1N1流感防控技术、狂犬病防治知识及死亡病例网络值报、手足口病防治知识、人感染猪链球菌流行病学与预防控制、医护人员预防艾滋病知识与政策等培训班。

　　2010年，台山市疾病预防控制中心被评为2009年度江门市艾滋病防治项目工作优秀单位、江门市健康教育与健康促进先进单位，台山市疾病预防控制中心艾滋病检测实验室被评为江门市2010年度艾滋病检测实验室血清学考核优秀单位。

　　2009年，台山市疾病预防控制中心被评为2008-2009年广东省死因监测工作先进单位、台山市第一批全国艾滋病综合防治示范区工作先进单位、2009年度台山市医疗卫生工作先进单位。

　　2008年，台山市疾病预防控制中心被评为全国丝虫病防治先进集体、江门市卫生系统抗震救灾先进单位、台山市卫生系统抗震救灾先进单位、2008年度台山市医疗卫生工作先进单位。
