Opportunities for Wind Power Generation Industry Companies – TOIPO CAPITAL
With the problems of global energy resources and environment ever escalating, especially those of the global warming featured climate change in recent years, wind power is getting high attention and being attached with great importance and has obtained a fast development speed as a result of the endeavor of various countries. The world’s installation capacity of wind power is over 100 MKW now and wind power has become an important part of the world’s energy structure. This is specially true recently with a fast growing wind power industry, a rapid increasing of installation capacity of wind power generation, an ever expanding of unit capacity of wind power turbine, and the obvious improving of security and reliability of wind power units, all these driven by a strong wind power market. Due to the above mentioned factors, enthusiasm of investment in wind power sector has reached a record-high and meanwhile, wind power industry has made its important transition from a small scale supplementary power source to a large scale major power source.
China is abundant with wind energy, and the potential wind energy in China is among the most abundant in the world. The available power energy of 10m above the ground is 253GW.Mr. Dinghuan Shi (the secretary-general of Department of Science and Technology, China) said, “Among all the reproducible energies, the wind power is most economical, it is being most quickly developed and most widely commercialized”
After the promulgation of the Law of Renewable Energy, the wind power industry of our country has experienced a fast growth. The wind farm capacity has doubled at the level of MKW for two consecutive years. In 2005 our total installed capacity was 1,260,000KW and at the end of 2006 the number was 106% higher with a capacity of 2,600,000 KW. The newly installed wind power capacity in 2006 was 1,340,000KW, higher than the accumulated total during the past 20 years. There were 91 wind farms in 16 provinces and cities. At the end of 2007 the total installed capacity was 5,900,000KW, a 126% increase over 2006. The newly installed wind power capacity in 2007 was 3,300,000KW, again, more than the accumulated total number during the past 21 years. The target of 5,000,000 KW capacities by 2010 was fulfilled in advance with a 20% hike. There are 158 wind farms in 21 provinces and cities. All these numbers show that after a slow growth of 10 years our wind power construction has been transferred onto a fast track. For just two years the percentage of installed capacity of wind power in the total installed capacity of our country had been increased from less than 1‰ in 2005 to 0.8% in 2007 and China has become the country of the third fast growth in wind power industry, next to USA and Spain. With several larger 10 MKW level wind farms being scheduled and implemented in Gansu, Inner Mongolia and Shanghai, there is no doubt that wind power will play a key role in the energy and power supply of our country.
