Al Green

Just For Me

Al Green was born in Forrest City, Arkansas. He was the sixth of ten children of sharecroppers! Sharecroppers are families that worked on other peoples' lands and in return had to give around 50 percent of the crops to the owners of the land. As you probably can imagine, it is a very hard life.

The gifted young artist first started to perform at the age of ten in a Forrest City quartet called Greene Brothers! in 2004 Green was inducted in to the Gospel Music Hall of Fame, also the Rolling Stone magazine ranked him #65 on their list of 100 Greatest Artists of All Times.

Al Green was an extremely gifted musician, but for those of us who are not as lucky you must understand fear will lead you no where! Master Yoda from starwars stated: "Named must your fear be before banish it you can." This is very true in many aspects of our lives: before I started creating music I always thought I was insecure, and I am afraid that no one will like my work. Although this might be true to a certain extent but what I was really afraid of all the work that needed to be done for the song to be completed. Determine your fear, acknowledge it, then ban it.
