LIFE QUALITY IN CITY CENTRES-CONDITIONS FOR RESIDENCE AND TOURISM

It is our pleasure to announce an international conference to be held in Toruń, Poland, on 13-15 May 2011, organized by the University of Economy in Bydgoszcz, Poland, and the Romualdo Del Bianco Foundation in Florence, Italy, under the patronage of President of Toruń, international organizations, Italian and Polish institutions.

The topic of the conference:  LIFE QUALITY IN CITY CENTRES  - CONDITIONS FOR RESIDENCE AND TOURISM covers a broad spectrum of urban development problems especially in historic urban centres penetrated by tourists.

The conference will present and discuss research findings and achievements in the field of urban planning, urban sociology, conservation and urban heritage protection, formulating policy and strategy for tourism development, problem solving methods for public transport, applications of sustainability and creative management principles. A post-conference scientific publication is planned. The official language of the conference is English.

We would like to invite you to visit the website www.flo-tor.byd.pl where the information on the programme, conditions for participation, deadlines for abstract submission, registration and fees is accessible. Please note that the fees favour early registration participants, conference speakers, as well as students.

Declaration of Individuals and Institutions expressing the intent to participate and to present a paper assigned to one of the three thematic sessions should be mailed until 10. Febuary 2011.

We would be most grateful if you could circulate the conference announcement among your colleagues, both researchers and practitioners, and prepare a presentation. The printed programme on the Toruń conference will be sent to your postal addresses.

The official language of the conference is English.

A post-conference scientific publication is planned.

The participants will have a chance to combine the conference debates with the cultural and sightseeing programme in Toruń and Bydgoszcz.

Meeting in a beautiful Polish city of Toruń – a known tourist destination, inscribed on the World Heritage List of UNESCO, will provide an opportunity for an interesting exchange of experiences and conclusions.
