云南艾滋病亚洲区域项目开展跨境防治

“云南省与越南、老挝、缅甸接壤，边境线长达4000多公里。在云南的某些口岸，存在跨境的商业性行为，调查显示，有些外籍小姐带有HIV病毒，结果有可能会导致许多人群被感染。”艾滋病亚洲区域项目云南项目经理朵林说。
朵林称，艾滋病的蔓延形势不容乐观。他介绍，自1990年首家国际机构和非政府组织进入云南省参与艾滋病防治工作以来，云南省先后与联合国艾滋病规划署、世界卫生组织、联合国开发计划署以及英国、澳大利亚等国家海外援助机构合作开展艾滋病防治合作项目，云南艾滋病亚洲区域项目开展了跨境防治。
据了解，艾滋病亚洲区域项目（HAARP）是由澳大利亚政府通过澳大利亚国际发展署援助，与中国、缅甸、越南、柬埔寨、老挝和菲律宾六国政府合作实施的为期五年（2008年6月—2010年12月）的发展项目。澳发署在中国将通过对国家灵活项目的实施，支持中国云南和广西的项目活动。云南省中澳艾滋病亚洲区域项目于2008年6月启动，项目覆盖云南省19个县。
截至2009年底，全国累计报告艾滋病病毒感染者和病人74万人，云南省有7万多人，为中国艾滋病重灾区之一。
