University of Kent 肯特大学
肯特大学位于英格兰岛东南角肯特郡的坎特伯雷市，是英国大学距离欧洲大陆最近的一所大学。坎特伯雷是一个有着悠久历史的文化古城。城市坐落于伦敦西南部，乘车至伦敦大约需要70分钟。前往巴黎只需要2个小时的车程。肯特大学建立于1965年（同年成立的还有Warwick）。
1997年，肯特大学在Chatham创建了Bridge Warden学院；2000年，与Mid-Kent学院共建了肯特大学Medway分校。肯特大学把Canterbury、Mid-Kent、South Kent等三所院校纳入肯特大学系统，并在英国首都伦敦、欧盟首府布鲁赛尔、和英国的Tonbridge设立了教学研究中心。借以强调其亲近欧盟的政治主张。
肯特大学共有18个院系，其计算机系是美国SUN MICROSYSTEM的欧洲培训中心，是想在大公司工作的欧洲学生向往的圣地。 尤其值得一提的是，肯特大学的精算科学在英国是具有300系列3门课程免试权的极少数大学之一。肯特大学的精算教师均是具有企业工作经验的精算FELLOW，其教学能够摆脱纯学院式风格而与工业实践相结合。其综合及数学专业的排名也处于领先地位。

英国精算师资格是世界上历史最悠久、被广泛承认的国际权威职业资格之一。英国精算师资格由英国两大专业机构The Institute of Actuaries ， the Faculty of Actuaries in Scotland（两者合称英国精算师协会）联合认证。前者成立于1848年，后者成立于1856年。
英国精算师协会（www.actuaries.org.uk）的会员分Student， Associate ，Fellow， Honorary Fellow， Affiliate 等5种。Student会员主要是在校研究生，Associate是通过100、200、300系列考试的会员，Fellow是通过所有考试、有三年工作经验、年满23 岁的会员，Honorary Fellow是不交会费的名誉会员，Affiliate是交会费的名誉会员。
英国精算师协会的考试分100、200、300、400等四个系列的科目。100系列包括Statistical Modeling， Financial Mathematics ， Stochastic Modeling ，Survival Models， Actuarial Mathematics 1， Actuarial Mathematics 2， Economics ，Finance & Financial Reporting ， Financial Economics 等9门考试科目；200系列只有Communications一门科目；300系列有Investment & Asset Management， Life Insurance ， General Insurance ，Pensions & other Benefits 等四门科目；400系列从UK Fellowship Investment， UK Fellowship Life Insurance ， UK Fellowship General Insurance， UK Fellowship pensions等四门中任选一门考试。精算师考试每年4月、9月举行两次。所有科目考试通过后，即可拿到精算师资格证书（肯特大学的硕士研究生可免试100、300系列考试科目， 400系列可用硕士论文替代。而且，肯特大学是英国两所具有免试权大学的之一）。
