潘基文呼吁民间社会支持抗击艾滋病

    新华网联合国４月８日电（记者危玮　白洁）联合国秘书长潘基文８日呼吁民间社会继续参与全球抗击艾滋病的努力。

    潘基文当天上午在纽约联合国总部召开的有关民间社会抗击艾滋病的听证会上说，由于民间社会的参与，全球阻止艾滋病传播的努力取得了进展，数百万患者正在接受治疗。他重申“各国政府正在努力解决这一问题，民间社会富有建设性的合作将会推动政府的努力”。

    潘基文说，今年是全球抗击艾滋病的关键时刻，国际社会正处于接近获得真正成功的边缘。２００１年设立的抗艾目标仍然有效，但实现它们的最后期限已过，现在需要新的目标。

    他指出，新目标包括将通过性传播感染艾滋病的病例减少一半、为１３００万艾滋病人提供治疗、阻止所有母婴传播、将因肺结核死亡的艾滋病患者人数减少一半、为感染艾滋病的孤儿提供保护和教育等。

    ２００１年，联合国大会艾滋病特别会议设定了２０１０年艾滋病防治目标，今年６月联合国将举行艾滋病问题高级别会议。
