自古以來，紫砂因為獨佔的三大特性，經常被制成茶具：一是紫砂急冷急熱、燉燒烹蒸均不會開裂；二是紫砂能夠抗餿防腐，可以『冬天泡茶茶不涼，夏天泡茶茶不餿』；第三也是最難得的是，紫砂透而不漏，上好的紫砂可以透出茶的香氣，但同時卻不透水、也不易透熱。因此，紫砂有『世間茶具稱為首』的盛名。

『一個工業要想可持續地發展下去，不能靠炒作和講故事，要有可托賴的、看得見摸得著的尺度。』朱敏怡說，『這條路肯定很難走，但是一定要走。由於只有尺度化纔能工業化、國際化，纔能讓更多的人接觸和接受紫砂。』2010年，百越文化成為上海世博會特許出產商和特許零售商。在設計制造『世博壺』的過程中，朱敏怡非常誇大尺度化的重要性。固然目前紫砂市場異常火爆，價格也連年飛漲，但是整個紫砂工業卻躲藏著不少題目。『目前紫砂行業中的絕大多數企業還都是小作坊式的模式，能夠形成規模化、規范化和工業化的非常少，這與這個工業的市場需乞降發展遠景長短常不協調的。』朱敏怡說。據朱敏怡先容，一把紫砂壺的價值會受到多方面因素的影響，好比用料優劣、工藝水平高低以及是否出自名家之手等等。『目前整個紫砂工業良莠不齊，也缺乏同一的行業尺度，導致消費者在購買時顧慮重重，極大地阻礙了整個行業的發展。』
