一场席卷全国多地的卖血悲剧最终演变为一些村庄集体的哀痛。刘染村也是其中之一。昔日的村民变成了“艾滋病”患者，但张振江依然做着自己的村医。他说：“他们上有老下有小的，我不能不管他们！”
从接触村里第一个艾滋病毒感染者到现在成为一名艾滋病患者的专职医生，他看着一个个家庭悲剧上演。同时，他也见证着艾滋病救助体系逐步有序地建立和这个“艾滋村”从乌云笼罩到曙光渐亮的过程。
3位村民正站在路边闲聊，见到张振江，热情地打着招呼。“你今天身体咋样？”张振江询问其中一位村民。“差不多，不知道血压可高了！”这位村民说。“走，我再给你量量。”张振江说。这位村民叫张灵岩，是位艾滋病患者，患病17年来，一直都是张振江帮他做检查和治疗。张灵岩说，因为自己患病干不了重活，就买了一辆面包车跑车，载村民往返村里和乡里，既方便了村民又能给家里增加点收入。
村里像张灵岩一样的艾滋病患者共有24名，张振江是他们的专职医生。张灵岩说，他对张振江非常依赖，对其无微不至的照顾更是充满感激，“我也不识字，不知道咋形容，反正他照顾俺就跟父母照顾孩子一样，特别尽心，我就这感觉”。
张振江还清晰地记得他当初接诊第一个疑似艾滋病患者时的情景。那位村民40岁左右，腰部长满了疱疹，因为从未接触过艾滋病，当时张振江为这位村民诊断的初步结果是坏血病，直到1995年利辛县第一例艾滋病患者确诊后，这位村民再次检查，才被确诊为艾滋病。
张振江说，这些艾滋病人与村民们相处得很和谐，村民与这些艾滋病患者之间的鸿沟正逐渐消失。“原来村民们看到我跟一个艾滋病人在门口说话，都躲得远远的，那时候很多村民都不来我这看病了。”张振江说，最初村里发现艾滋病人时，大家都谈“艾”色变，亲戚朋友都不走动了，为了减少艾滋病人心理的阴影以及村民对艾滋病的恐惧心理，他还曾专门到艾滋病人家里和他们一起进餐，首先让艾滋病人的家人正确认识艾滋病，给他们以温暖。后来随着国家“四免一关怀”开始实施，一系列救助政策的实施也让整个村子的里里外外发生很大变化。艾滋病患者们感受到来自社会大家庭的温暖。
村子里一下出现那么多艾滋病患者，张振江天天和他们打交道，多少琢磨出了一点“东西”。但这“东西”靠不住，往往上一个患者这么治管用，下一个就不行了。后来通过翻阅一些书籍，参加县里的集中和定期培训，他开始对治疗艾滋病有了一套方法。张振江说，艾滋病患者免疫力差，经常会出现感冒、腹泻、发烧等症状，而他们一旦生病就比普通人更难康复，别人3天就好了，他们可能要十几天才能痊愈。有时一些艾滋病患者见病情一直不见好转，情绪激动，还会出现打骂医生的情况。面对这些，张振江说：“他们毕竟是病人，总不能跟他们对打去！”
每天为艾滋病患者看病难免会有一些“小意外”，张振江就曾在为艾滋病患者输液时被针头扎破过手指。一次，他为一位艾滋病患者输液，扎上针后他就转身为另一位病人输液去了，回来检查时发现病人手部起包了，要重新扎，就在拔针时，针头弹到他的手指上，扎破了皮。还有一次，也是帮艾滋病患者输液，拔针后他用棉球按住患者针孔处时不小心又被针头扎到。由于处理及时，经过医院检查，并无大碍。
“没办法，只能自己平时注意，也不能因为这个就不干了。他们上有老下有小的，我不能不管他们！”张振江说，看到他曾经照顾的一些被确诊为艾滋病的病人，从5年至8年的寿命到如今20多年甚至更久，张振江感到高兴和欣慰，也为此感到骄傲，目前刘染村已经有两年没有新增艾滋病患者了。（摘自《内蒙古日报》）
