中國日報網消息：據英國廣播公司4月25日報導，南非總統祖馬 25日在啟動一項大規模艾滋病諮詢和檢測活動時，公佈了自己的艾滋病病毒檢測結果。

祖馬以前坦承自己做過艾滋病病毒檢測，但從未公佈檢查結果。他說：“經過慎重考慮，我決定與南非人分享我的檢查結果。與前三次一樣，我4月份的檢查結果呈陰性“。

祖馬表示，他這樣做是為了鼓勵公開檢查結果，消除民眾對艾滋病的漠視和偏見。他在約翰內斯堡附近一家醫院說：“我們必須讓全體南非人明白，艾滋病患者並沒有犯罪。”

不過，他也強調，他公佈檢查結果並非是向其他公民施加壓力，要求他們也這樣做，因為這關乎個人隱私，必須由個人做出決定。

祖馬的私人生活曾經是南非的一個焦點問題。他有三位妻子，有一名私生子，還曾涉嫌強姦而被告上了法庭。當時，祖馬承認他與原告，一名艾滋病病毒感染者發生了性關係，並且沒有採取保護措施。他表示，他在事後淋浴，認為這樣可以減少感染風險。不過，這些都沒有妨礙他在去年4月就任南非總統。

當天在公開自己檢查結果的同時，祖馬宣布在南非發起大規模艾滋病病毒檢測活動，到2011年6月檢查 1500萬人。南非共有人口4900萬，聯合國估計其中有500多萬人感染了艾滋病病毒。
