艾滋病疫苗研发专家：学会快乐地百折不挠

新华网吉林频道３月８日电（记者常亦殊 张颖）学会快乐地百折不挠，于湘晖常常这样提醒自己。作为一名艾滋病疫苗研发专家，十余年来，她总是勇于接受最难的挑战，用自己的聪明才干，为早日解开艾滋病的防治难题做着贡献。
今年３８岁的于湘晖是吉林大学生命科学学院的教授、博士生导师，多年来一直致力于艾滋病及其他流行病防治的前期研究。由于她的出色表现，２９岁那年，于湘晖被公派到美国约翰霍普金斯大学继续深造。
在异国他乡，她努力钻研，在极短的时间就解决了艾滋病病毒基础理论研究中的重大问题。她所在的科研小组，第一个阐述了艾滋病病毒逃避宿主防御系统而导致机体发病的机理，这不仅填补了艾滋病基础理论研究的空白，更为艾滋病新药的研发找到了新途径。这一成果，还以于湘晖为第一作者，发表在２００３年１１月的国际权威科学杂志《Ｓｃｉｅｎｃｅ》上，引起全世界艾滋病防治领域专家的关注。
于湘晖的突出贡献，让一些美国研究机构也纷纷向她抛出橄榄枝。但她还是选择回到祖国，参与到吉林大学艾滋病疫苗国家工程实验室的重要工作。
谈到当初自己回国的选择，于湘晖表示，"这是两方面考虑，一是现在我们国家越来越重视科研，让我们很受鼓舞，另外，也是为了能照顾好父母，毕竟对于一名女性来说，家庭还是最重要的。"
现在，于湘晖关心最多的还是自己研究的项目。说到这儿，不善言表的她总是滔滔不绝，"最主要是研究预防性的艾滋病疫苗，现在我们的疫苗已经进行了二期的临床试验，正在广西疾控中心开展。"
据记者了解，这个项目是我国第一个获得国家批准、可进行临床试验的艾滋病疫苗项目，对攻克艾滋病的防治难题有着非同一般的意义。
这样艰巨的任务，不仅工作量繁重，而且内容枯燥，需要进行复杂的实验、繁琐的数据采集和分析。于湘晖介绍，"艾滋病疫苗的临床试验，是一个非常漫长的过程，它要经过一、二、三期临床，各阶段的审批，以及生产后的效果评价。如果一个疫苗要完成整个的实验过程，至少需要十年时间。"
为了得到一个小小的数据，于湘晖经常半个月都泡在实验室里，有时甚至一天一宿都不能合眼。在刚刚过去的春节，她就是和同事们在做动物实验中度过的。"我们的一切时间都以实验为准。比如，分子生物学时间点的实验，需要一个小时或两个小时取一个实验样本，连续取样２４个小时，那就要一天都在实验室里，有时候半夜３点才回家，清晨７点就又回到实验室了。"
如此漫长的实验，让许多男性研究人员都熬不住，但于湘晖总是笑着坚持下来。一些学生看到别人的科研实验几个月就能出成果，而自己的实验一个评价过程就要搞半年，便着急地向于湘晖抱怨。但于湘晖总是淡淡地笑笑，开导他们说："遇到这种困难，自己就要静下心来想一想，'我到底想做什么？'想明白了，就有了坚持下来的理由。其实学会快乐地百折不挠，不也是人生的乐趣吗？"
"我的工作既具有挑战性，又有很多的实际意义，都是和人类的健康相关，一想到这些我就很有兴致。"于湘晖说，她前进的动力，就是自己对事业的热爱。这份热爱，不仅让于湘晖成为一名艾滋病疫苗研究领域的佼佼者，更让她获得第四届中国青年女科学奖提名奖等荣誉。
面对成就，于湘晖却总是谦虚地表示，自己只是科学领域的沧海一粟，还有很多女性和自己一样，正用自己聪明的才智、乐观的态度、坚定的信念、顽强的毅力和勤奋的精神，在艰苦的科研领域奋力攀登。（完）
