12月1日是世界艾滋病日。联合国将2009年至2010年世界艾滋病日的主题确定为：“普遍可及和人权”，意在强调实现艾滋病预防、治疗、关怀和支持的普遍可及是保护人权的当务之急。今年我国倡导“遏制艾滋，履行承诺”，再次强调了不歧视艾滋病患者的呼吁，国际权威组织把普及艾滋病人权关怀和预防放在首位，意在表明艾滋病发展的现状严重和紧迫的。
据联合国艾滋病规划署2008年报告显示，2007年全球新增艾滋病毒感染者270万，比2001年下降了30万，因艾滋病死亡的人数为200万，比2001年下降20万。全球的艾滋病病毒感染者仍有3300万人。 非洲的疫情仍然十分严重。撒哈拉沙漠以南非洲地区仍是疫情最严重的地区，艾滋病患者占全球的67%。不容乐观的艾滋病疫情一直对中国产生深远的影响。
近日，广西省柳州市牛车坪村的一名艾滋孤儿，因父母死于艾滋病，年仅6岁的阿龙失去了上学的机会，在社会倡导关怀艾滋病患者的语境下，阿龙的遭遇，引起人们对艾滋病患者重新认识，一个本该上学的少年，因为歧视和排斥无法正常上学，让社会揪心，强调关怀和预防艾滋病尤显迫切和重要。
阿龙的遭遇，尽管社会各个方面都给广西艾滋孤儿给予了关注和同情，但是我们不容忽视的是艾滋病这一个生物意义上的疾病，它无论怎样演变和普及它的病因，已经在人们心目中有一个根深蒂固的烙印，在传统道德标签下艾滋病无论怎样的粉饰，它就是一个道德妖魔的化身。
一般接触不会感染艾滋病，这是一个普通的生理常识，但是“说者轻松，适者难从”如果我们真正的和艾滋病患者相处，还是需要心理上的融洽，从心理上接受艾滋病患者的尊严和人格，虽然从科学上证明“校园中发生血液传播的概率并不高”，也有事实证明艾滋病孩子在普通的学校生活、学习，并没有给身边的同学老师造成任何影响。尽管如此，被传统道德武装几千年的人们，还是无法接受万恶之首以性为首要传播条件的艾滋病患者，不让艾滋孩子上学，这一切都是艾滋病量化道德的无理宣判，对孩子对社会都是有失公正的。
对于艾滋病，在社会上存在两种观念:一种是把艾滋病感染者视为“道德败坏者咎由自取”。另一种观点是:防治艾滋病主要是为了保障个人的健康权，健康权是一种基本人权，体现出医疗公平等。在“以人为本”的背景下，艾滋病预防工作是保护和保障社会健康发展的重要任务，预防艾滋病既体现了人性的关怀，又保障了社会公共安全，艾滋病预防工作和社会健康发展是相辅相成的，尊重人权不本身就是要公平合理的对待艾滋病群体享受社会公共服务的权利不受到侵害，广西艾滋孤儿就读普通小学遭家长联名抗议告诉我们，对艾滋感染者的歧视已经刻板化。
在纵深开放的背景下，各国深受艾滋病困扰已经是一个全球问题，中国作为一个发展中国家，对艾滋病历来是主张依靠科学/有序战胜它，这就需要需要我们从生活、制度和文明的根源上战胜它。如果我们连一个患艾滋病的孩子都不能接受，那么我们人性的光辉又在哪里?在恶病缠身的情况下，我们在给艾滋病患者心头一刀，由歧视带来的社会排斥，这不利于社会文明和社会进步。也不适合联合国倡导的“普遍可及和人权”。
艾滋病的病因虽然性是主导，但他是多方面的诱因，艾滋病感染者是一个病人。但是他有健康的人格和尊严，疾病并没有剥夺他的任何人格权利。防治艾滋病工作必须反对任何形式的对于艾滋病感染者的歧视，对于整个社会来说，艾滋病的危害其实并不是疾病本身，而是它所带来的社会恐慌，因为艾滋病虽然属于慢性传染病，但是它却被赋予了太多的道德含义，甚至某些旨在预防艾滋病的宣传教育也在不自觉地强化着这种道德含义。这加剧了艾滋病恐慌，造成了社会歧视。
广西艾滋孤儿就读普通小学遭家长联名抗议，这是一个危险的信号，以道德的标准量化艾滋病，甚至排斥艾滋病享受公共教育的权利，是需要值得警惕的，在倡导关怀艾滋病的主旨中，也不允许有这样的歧视，如果不遏制这种排斥的起点，我们预防艾滋病和普及人性关怀的努力将无从谈起。
