In an effort to shore up a depleted front line, the Portland Trail Blazers released Anthony Tolliver and are expected to sign free agent Shavlik Randolph to a one-year, non-guaranteed deal on Wednesday, a team source told ESPN.com.

Randolph appeared in just two games for the Miami Heat this season before getting waived.

Randolph hasn’t appeared in more than 13 games since his rookie season when he averaged 2.3 points and 2.4 rebounds per game for the 76ers.

The Blazers recently lost centers Greg Oden and Joel Przybilla for the season with injuries.

Portland also assigned 2009 second-round draft pick Patrick Mills to the Idaho Stampede of the NBA Development League.

Tolliver played sparingly in two games for Portland following his Dec. 17 call-up from the Stampede.

The Trail Blazers chose Mills with the 55th pick in the draft. The point guard out of St. Mary’s fractured a bone in his right foot during an NBA Summer League practice session July 9.

He underwent surgery four days later and recently completed rehabilitation.
