四川地震灾情惨重，大地破碎，到处断垣残壁，死伤万计了，这样的境况让人心头纠结，生命是何等脆弱啊！但是在巨痛中也让我们看见许多坚强的生命力与人性的光辉的故事，令人感动。
近日我们基金会接到许多电话，询问我们捐建的爱心小学和设置珍珠班的学校有没有受损？
感谢大家的关心，经我们第一时间的了解，设置珍珠班的学校都安然无恙，包括最靠近灾区的《四川凉山州民族中学》都安好，该校学生还特别代表学校发出报平安的e-mail 给基金会。
在四川我们基金会总共捐建15所爱心小学，靠近震央汶川县有3所，目前状况不明，我们将设法了解。
许多好朋友问我们：可以如何参与赈灾？基金会将会做什么动作？
基于台湾921的经验，在地震后最重要的工作是抢救生命，掌握快速是要点。而灾后重建是全面，费用也大，是漫长而艰巨的工作。
我们基金会原有的捐款都已有特定项目，不可随便挪用。但是我们愿意在原有《捐建爱心小学》《捡回珍珠计划》的项目上，侧重灾区的校舍重建或维修，提供学生爱心餐券以及教学设备。
若大家有意愿，可以指定项目捐款。我基金会将在灾区重建计划与需求明朗化后，通过我们过去捐建或捐赠的通路，加入政府重建的行列。

Rebuild School Building
Sichuan earthquake became a major disaster. It has created broken ground and crashed buildings everywhere in the quake zone. Tens of thousands casualties resulted. What we realized is how fragile life is; but also how strong the will power can be, so is the glory of human heart from touching stories.
Lately, we received many calls regarding our “Love School” and “Pearl Recovery” projects. We appreciated your concerns. Based on the latest update, all schools with Pearl class are fine including Sichuan Liangshan Civil High School which is nearby the earthquake zone. The student representative from that school sent us an email to assure its safe condition.
Our Foundation had built 15 schools in Sichuan province. Three of them are close to Wenchuan County. We are trying to make sure their current status.
Many friends asked us “What Foundation will do” and “How do we participate in the disaster relief programs”. Based on Taiwan last 921 earthquake experience, the first most important task is to save lives during the crucial period. After that, the rebuild programs are long term, costly and difficult to sustain.
All donations in our Foundation were specified for designated projects, they can’t be transferred for other uses. But under the current situation, we are willing to apply the original funds designated to “Love School” or “Pearl Recovery” projects to “Rebuild School Building” or “Provide school love meal coupons and teaching equipment”.
If you wish this way, you may want to specify your original project and its amounts. We will apply them to the Rebuild Program and work with our previous government channels once the disaster rebuild programs are clarified.
