English Changed My Life
It was a hot summer and I was eagerly waiting for the result of my University Enrollment Examination. For many days, I had been thinking about my future depending on this result. Since I was not so sure about my grade, I even planed to learn motor-maintenance to making a living, just at this time, one of my classmates told me that I got a rather good mark and soon I received the letter of admission from Shandong Normal University. I majored in English in the Foreign Language Department, even though I didn't like it very much, but English really changed me a lot after that both professionally and personally.
Professionally, my major helped me so much in the cause of getting my master degree and PHD. To be frank, in China foreign language exam plays a very important role in the entrance exams of both Master and PAD. Though I changed my major twice when I was a postgraduate, I still know clearly that many people who are good at their majors but not English seldom have the opportunity to be a postgraduate. What's more, after graduation, I kept teaching English and it improved my English greatly, I came to love English after I changed my major.
Personally, English changed me a lot indirectly because I married my wife who is so proud of my English, though my favorite major is calligraphy and culture, my wife prefers to introduce to her colleges that my major is English, I'm sure that my English experience is one of the main reasons she loves me. After our marriage, I learned from my wife many good virtues such as thoughtfulness, sanity and responsibility, which in turn made my work better off.
English, more exactly the English experience in university, changed me greatly in many fields. Now I have almost finished my English Training Program in UCSD, and my English is improved again, I value this experience and hope it can change me more in the future.
