缅甸24万多人感染艾滋病毒

  据联合国儿童基金会公布的消息,缅甸2007年的艾滋病感染者估计达24万多。其中的三分之二是24岁以下的年轻人。

  该基金会驻缅甸代表在12月1日世界艾滋病日说,由于缺乏对艾滋病知识的了解,年轻人离艾滋病更近,更易受感染。要在年轻人中开展应有的艾滋病知识教育。目前随着年轻人对HIV、AIDS更进一步的了解,认识到这将对缅甸带来危害,已形成了一支抵抗此危险的主力军。

  联合国儿童基金会开展的全球“联合抵抗艾滋病”活动,主要目的是对15至24岁年龄段的人进行艾滋病防治教育。

  缅甸大约10万妇女感染了艾滋病毒,如果她们生育孩子,就可能使这些孩子也感染上艾滋病。我们面临很多挑战和困难,同时防治和消除艾滋病工作也有了进展。目前联合国儿童基金会在缅甸小学和中学的教学大纲中加入了生存技能等方面的内容。要增加孩子们的HIV、AIDS知识,接下来还会在适龄人群中开展防治艾滋病教育。缅甸增强全民体质战略计划(2006-2010)中也把在年轻人中阻止艾滋病作为了首要任务。
