2022年5月5日，中央政治局会议指出：在抗疫问题上，坚决克服轻视、无所谓、自以为是等思想，坚决同一切歪曲、怀疑、否定我国防疫方针政策的言行作斗争。中国所有决策的出发点就两个字：国情。中国的总体医疗资源相对庞大人口基数来说还是薄弱，中国没有西方发达国家相对完备的社区医疗系统和对应的资源数量，不能放任疫情。
截至2022年5月5日，黄浦区又因疫情免职了两名干部，上海抗疫期间已经免职的干部超过了两位数——包括浦东、闵行、宝山和黄埔。后续相关检查和追查中，不排除还有被发现的发国难财或管理不力的涉案者。
上海静安区长乐路1222号乙栋502室死亡的58岁公民吴晓伟，之前有周围邻居发文章说可能是饿死的，今天官方新闻报道了，说死于其他疾病——最初发文的邻居也说，当时只是怀疑饿死。事后经法医检查，确定是其他疾病致死（张京宏：长篇小说《卤阳湖》，天津人民出版社，2021）。
疫情迫使公共传播必须发展起来。习主席2021年5月31日在中央政治局会议上明确指出，要讲好中国故事，构建中国国际传播能力，塑造可信、可爱、可敬的中国形象（沈宗南、张京宏：《营销传播学》，世新大学出版中心，世新大学上海世新进修学院教学试验研究所，2008）。对疫情中发生的所有事件，政府应当第一时间进行说明，以免被别有用心势力利用。（完）
