日前，清华大学教授李希光在其微博中称，近期发生多起男同献血查艾滋事件，因艾滋病窗口期检测不出病毒，导致其血液可能被运用到临床，引起病毒传播。对此，广东省卫生厅和广州血液中心都回应称，近年来广州血库查出的艾滋病血液逐年递减，只有万分之一，用血者不必恐慌。
今年4月19日，清华大学艾滋病综合研究中心副主任李希光在其微博中称，“卫生部说，最近，多起艾滋病传播源于男性同性恋者不愿意做艾滋病检测。他们通过献血检测。由于艾滋病感染者有几周检测不出病毒的窗口期，艾滋病毒就这样传播开了。”
据广东省卫生厅副厅长廖新波介绍，去年广东实际采血166万单位（约3.33亿毫升），临床用血144万单位（约2.882亿毫升），其中广州市提供临床用血1.04亿毫升，献血人次突破50万，最大限度满足了临床用血安全。因部分采集的血液中还有不安全成分，以及储存时间过长，去年广东有22万单位血液未投入临床使用。
廖新波告诉记者，每年采集的血液中，都可能会检测到艾滋病血液，前几年呈现逐渐上升趋势，但最近几年，已经下降了很多。广州市血液中心主任付涌水也表示，广州市血液中心采集上来的艾滋病血液，比例只占万分之一，因此用血者不必紧张。
付涌水表示，为确保广州临床用血安全，避免少数艾滋病感染者的血液进入临床，广州血液中心采集的血液有三次检测，高于国家卫生部的标准，与国际接轨。付涌水告诉记者，按照卫生部的标准，采集上来的血液要用ELISA法检测两次，其中一次国产一次进口，可查出12~14天窗口期的艾滋病。
除了上述检测方式，广州市血液中心还从美国进口NAT核酸检测法，其能检测出的艾滋病窗口期要比ELISA法早1~2天。付涌水表示，广州市血液中心收集到的艾滋病血液占比微乎其微，但输血依然有风险，如果不到万不得已的时候，建议不要输血。
那么如何从源头上减少艾滋病窗口期血液流入血库？市血液中心体检采血科主任曾祥凤向记者展示了一份《无偿献血登记表》，其中第二项是健康情况咨询，分为三个小类，前两类中只要有一项打勾，则暂缓献血；第三类只要有一项打勾，则不允许献血，其中第三类的第2题就是“有吸毒史、同性恋、多个性伴侣。”
