艾滋新疫苗可弱化病毒

本报讯 外国一些研究人员说,一种全新艾滋病疫苗已进入人体测试阶段,有望弱化这种病毒,使它只能引发“轻微慢性感染”。这款疫苗名为MVA-B,以天花疫苗为主体研制,添加了没有复制能力的艾滋病病毒基因。
已有24人使用
以实验鼠和猴子为对象的测试成功后,疫苗进入人体测试阶段。英国《每日邮报》9月29日报道,30名身体健康的志愿者加入测试,其中24人使用疫苗,另外6人使用与疫苗外观类似的安慰剂,以排除安慰剂效应。
安慰剂其实不含任何药物成分。不过,一些病人服用安慰剂后,会因心理预期改变使病情出现缓解。这一现象称为安慰剂效应。
测试结果显示,90%的志愿者显现出对艾滋病病毒的免疫反应,85%志愿者的免疫反应可以保持至少一年。《每日邮报》报道没有提及疫苗组和安慰剂组的具体测试结果。
效果超其他疫苗
研发艾滋病疫苗是科学界不断努力的方向,但困难重重。2009年,泰国一项涉及1.6万名志愿者的研究显示,一种疫苗可以阻止一部分人感染艾滋病,但有效率只有30%。
西班牙高级科学研究委员会教授埃斯特万说:“MVA-B疫苗获证和其他现存(艾滋病)疫苗同样有效,甚至更有效。”
按照埃斯特万的说法,该疫苗的抗艾机理“就像是展示了一幅艾滋病病毒的照片”,作为人体免疫系统识别病毒的模板。
能弱化病毒影响
其实,MVA-B疫苗并不能完全阻止艾滋病病毒入侵,但可以弱化病毒对人体的影响。埃斯特万认为,依据这种防护效果,MVA-B完全有资格成为“有前途的疫苗”。
“如果(艾滋病)病毒进入人体并试图在细胞中复制,免疫系统则准备好阻止它的活动并摧毁遭感染的细胞。”
也就是说,在MVA-B的保护下,人体即便感染艾滋病病毒,也不会触发严重并发症,只会引起“轻微慢性感染”,传染性显著降低。一些研究人员说,如果这种疫苗成功通过临床测试阶段,那么,今后艾滋病病毒对人类的影响将与现在的疱疹病毒类似。
