艾滋病署谴责杀害乌干达同性恋者的暴力行为

2011年1月28日 联合国艾滋病规划署在1月27日发表媒体声明，对乌干达同性恋活动人士卡多（David Kato）遭到杀害的事件表示严重关切，并呼吁乌干达政府对此事进行彻底调查，确保该国所有男女同性恋者、双性恋者以及变性者的人身安全。
艾滋病规划署执行主任西迪贝（Michel Sidibe）27日对卡多的死亡深表悲痛，并对憎恨同性恋现象以及针对个人和社区的暴力行为予以谴责。
目前，世界上约有80个国家将同性恋定为非法。艾滋病署指出，这些法律是对同性恋一种歧视，阻碍了人们正常获得艾滋病的服务。乌干达现行法律将同性恋视为非法。 国际社会曾呼吁乌干达议会废除将同性恋行为非法化的做法。
