Y-3’s runway show was all about lasers and a couple of staged fights between designer Yohji Yamamoto and two of his models. The whole thing confused/amused us at the same time.
The soundtrack was Simon & Garfunkel, which made it even weirder. In terms of the clothes, they were what you’d expect from this long term collaboration between Yamamoto and Moncler. The women’s shoes–sporty black heels with accents of pinkish red and purple–were most appealing. I can foresee entire market pages dedicated to them come fall.
The presentation for Moncler’s Grenoble collection was equally–if not more–thrilling. The puffers and pants were typical, but the way in which they were presented at the Chelsea Piers was not.
With Bach blasting in the background, guests were escorted into Pier 59’s golf club, where we were offered thermoses of hot chocolate and mulled wine. The presentation took place on the driving range, where models stood in sets of three on a huge metal structure, bright lights glowing on their “looks.” Who cared about the moncler jackets? The spectacle was good enough for us.
We’ll admit it: These are two unnecessary shows that we wouldn’t mind seeing again. At Milan fashion week, Dolce and Gabbana lined coats in fur and accessorized its winter wear with fur scarves and trapper hats. In Paris Karl Lagerfeld used both faux and real fur in his Chanel runway show, delivering fur boots, skirts, and pants. He even sent out two male models in full fur suits, a la Where The Wild Things Are. At New York fashion week Jen Kao used fur sleeves to finish dresses and jackets, and strips of black dyed fur to belt looks. That same week Toronto’s Jeremy Laing presented a collection that featured beaver, raccoon, and muskrat pelts, which many championed as a nod to his Canadian heritage.
The laundry list of designers that used fur in fall collections is long: Gianfranco Ferré, Gucci, Chloe, Moncler Gamme Bleu, John Galliano, Roberto Cavalli, Altuzarra, Jen Kao, Nicole Miller, and Chado Ralph Rucci are just a few of the moncler coats that used fur this season.Toronto was no exception. IZMA, the label co-designed by Izzy Camilleri and former Fashion File host Adrian Mainella, opened LG Fashion Week on March 28 with a parade of fur looks.Team Foundation Server ist nicht auf Windows und .NET beschränkt, auch andere Plattformen und Betriebssysteme profitieren von der offenen Architektur.
