湖北省艾滋病母婴传播率由38%下降到4.8%

　　【长江网讯】 （楚天都市报）（记者 陈媛 通讯员 高翔）昨日获悉，开展艾滋病母婴诊断项目5年来，我省艾滋病母婴传播率由38%下降到4.8%，至少使80名儿童免遭艾滋病感染。

　　2005年起，中南医院艾滋病专家桂希恩与美国艾滋病专家何大一共同在我省开展该项目。由何大一所在的美国艾伦。戴蒙德艾滋病研究中心提供专项资金支持，桂希恩和项目组成员对我省感染艾滋病病毒的妇女及她们感染后所生的子女进行调查研究。调查结果显示，在未采取干预措施的情况下，艾滋病母婴传播不断发生，传播率高达38.1%，是儿童感染HIV的主要途径。

　　母婴传播可发生在宫内、产时或产后（母乳喂养）。在知情同意的基础上，项目组对艾滋病病毒阳性孕妇提供终止妊娠、服用预防药物、产时药物阻断等服务。经过5年努力，艾滋病母婴传播率下降到4.8%，采取不完全阻断措施传播率降至11.4%.据此推算，该项目至少使80名儿童免遭艾滋病感染。
