视点转移常用于以下几种情况：

　　正反转移在翻译过程中，我们常常发现对原文所表达的意思不能逐字翻译，原文是肯定的往往需译成否定的，而原文是否定的往往又需译成肯定的，这样更符合译语的表达习惯，使人一目了然。

　　（1）从原文的反面切入，如：I have read your articles.I expected to meet an older man.我读过你的文章，想不到你这样年轻。“As to what will happen next,your guess is as good asmine.”淮阴翻译公司“下一步会发生什么情况，我和你一样都只是乱猜。”（此句中的“your guessisasgood as mine”是“我和你一样都不知道，都只能是瞎猜”，而不是“你的猜测和我的一样好。”）Helen:“I never used to be sure when he was being serious,or when he wasn't.”John:“I don't think he knows himself half the time.”海伦：“我过去怎么也弄不准他什么时候是开玩笑，什么时候当真。”约翰：“依我看，大多数情况下，连他自己都搞不清。”（“half the time”意为“常常，多数情况”，而非“一半的时间”。）

　　（2）原文是否定的，译成肯定的。如：Parents can't be too strict with their children.家长对孩子越严格越好。He has no small chances of success.他大有成功的可能。Tom didn't go to bed until the very small hours.汤姆直到深夜才睡觉。I can't agree more.我百分之百同意。I couldn't feel better.我感觉精神好极了。The thought of returning to his native land never desertedhim amidst his tribulation.在苦难中，归国的念头一直索绕在他心头。The house has been let,but nobody is moving in till tomor-row.房子是租出去了，可是明天才有人搬进来。I'm never at a loss for a word;Pitt is never at a loss for theword.我总能凑合找个词儿说说，可是皮特什么时候都能找到恰如其分的词儿。

　　（3）双重否定译成肯定，如：I don't think we have asked for anything that they haven'tdone.我认为我们要求的事情，他们都已经办到了。There is no law that has no exceptions.凡是规律都有例外。上海翻译公司There is nothing unexpected about it.一切都在意料之中。I'm not unaware of this.我对此事一清二楚。What's done cannot be undone.覆水难收。I would not have made this appeal to you had I not felt surethat you would not misunderstand me.深信你不致误解，所以作此呼吁如上。

　　（4）原文是肯定的，译成否定的。如：I stayed awake almost the whole night yesterday.我昨天几乎一夜没睡。But he is at a loss to know where to begin.但是他不知从哪儿开始好。I'11 be here for good this time.我这一次再也不走了。All music is alike to Mary.玛丽毫无音乐欣赏能力。We may safely say so.我们这样说万无一失。Please remain seated while the plane is taking off.飞机起飞时，请不要离开座位。He has outgrown these toys.他已长大，不再玩这些玩具了。The milk is too hot to drink.牛奶太烫，无法喝。It is three years since he was an actor.他不当演员已有三年了。
