(Reporter Zhang Chao) from the end of 2004, the province since the prevention of MTCT of HIV have been 11 cases of maternal HIV infection were PMTCT, as of now, there are already over 4 cases were followed up to determine the child not infected with HIV, and the remaining 7 patients in the follow-up.
Prevention of MTCT of HIV in our province relies on the work of three-tier network of maternal and child health, to provide HIV antibody screening of pregnant women and PMTCT services. Provincial Women and Child Health Hospital security specialist told reporters: "In many people the impression that the mother infected with AIDS, gave birth to a baby to be infected with HIV, it is not right, do not take measures in case of transmission between mother and child ratio of 30-50%, if the technology through standard PMTCT services can reduce the risk of mother to child transmission. "key to successfully block the spread of the three aspects: First, in the early pregnancy test pregnant women when" HIV " antibody detection, early detection of HIV infection if determined early start after infection prevention medication under the guidance of a doctor; second is to avoid the spread of the virus during production, standardized production operations, safe delivery, start early neonatal prophylaxis; Third, we carried artificial feeding to reduce the risk of infants infected with HIV.
