The designer started his life in the North of France in 1957. Later, he was accepted to art school and moved to Paris, in 1973. He went from hair design to making hats, which led him into the fashion world. His first hats were sold at Venus et Neptune, one of the most trendy shops on the Left Bank in Paris.

“I like to make women look beautiful, who want to please and be noticed,” he says. His recent collections had brightly colored pieces, as well as dresses fading from one shade to another. In September 1998, Herve Leger was acquired by BCBGMAXAZRIAGROUP from the Seagram’s Group. In April 2007, designer Max Azria relaunched the Herve Leger brand under his own design direction.
