路透社8月20日报道，一个艾滋病团体“艾滋病卫生保健基金会”对美国加利福利亚地区的16家色情电影片商发起诉讼，谴责他们违反了工作场所安全法规，没有要求色情电影演员戴上安全套。
据报道，该团体在诉状中呼吁加州职业安全和健康部门对此进行调查，与诉状一起递交的还有色情片厂商制作的60张DVD光盘，以作为证据。
同时，一个原色情电影女演员随诉讼一起递交了她对另外三个色情片厂商的诉讼。加州职业安全与健康部门很快表示将针对诉讼展开调查。
据报道，美国每年120亿美元产值的色情电影业片商很大部分集中在洛杉矶市郊的圣费尔南多（San Fernando）地区。公共卫生部门的数字显示，从2004年到2008年，在1884名色情电影演员中确诊了2800个性病案例。其中很多人受到多重性病感染之苦。
而色情片商Vivid Entertainment的创立者Steve Hirsch在接受采访时表示，“如果洛杉矶市选择强制执行演员戴安全套的法令，那么色情片产业将离开加利福尼亚。”
