在人口拥挤的城市同他人合租一间公寓司空见惯，那么和别人分享一块墓地呢？
南非城市德班由于近年来死亡人数激增，墓地资源紧缺，政府不得不考虑开展“墓地回收利用”计划。
公墓紧缺
德班位于南非夸祖鲁—纳塔尔省，这里是南非艾滋病病毒携带者比例最高的省份，近520万人患艾滋病。近年来，德班的死亡人数猛增，造成公墓资源紧缺。
按照一年死亡人数大约2万计算，德班市政府不得不新建数座公墓，每一座造价2000万兰特（约合290万美元）。法新社10日援引墓地管理官员佩·达斯的话报道，政府没有能力负担这笔钱。
德班市政府担心现有墓地资源将在两年内全部用尽，别无他法，考虑实施墓地回收利用计划。按照计划，10年以上的旧坟墓将重新深埋，为修建于上方的新坟墓腾出空间。这项计划将在一座墓园试点，最终推广至全市60座墓园。
达斯说：“墓地回收利用是迫不得已，这不仅考虑到节省空间，还涉及城市的可持续发展。”
惹起众怒
对祖鲁人而言，与他人共用一个坟墓是对亡灵的亵渎。墓地回收利用计划在德班这个祖鲁人聚居区惹起众怒。
现年63岁的寡妇坦迪·伍德去墓地悼念亡夫。提及回收利用墓地的做法，她说这个主意“非常糟糕”。
“如果他们想回收我丈夫的墓地，我会制止他们。没门！”她说。
德班大学祖鲁文化教授萨伍·恩古巴内说：“人们与祖先的亡灵交流。他们不希望任何事物干扰自己和祖先的联系。”
