GAMT8月份考试的一些答疑
一． 关于指代问题： 最困惑的问题
自己看了OG语法题的解释，很多选项说是因为it,they这类词指代不明，但是通过逻辑意思分析可以确定代词指代对象，难道也算是指代不明吗？以及it,they适用于就近指代的原则吗，假如they前面出现多个不同复数名词或是it前有多个单数名词就会指代不明吗？指代问题是自己最困惑的问题，不知自己表述明白没有，以下有相关的题不是很明白，自己阐述了自己的思路，希望老师指点一下自己思路错在哪里。
---------一般出现以“it”“they”为主要考点的题目选项都不正确。注意这里的such …..so that 有问题
In

（这个within them确实容易理解为是tourist身体内部的，因而不对, 原因就是一个被动语态that was exhaled的使用混淆了结构）
(E) because moisture exhaled by tourists had raised the humidity within them to such levels that salt from the stone was crystallizing(答案)
（这个正确，不用被动语态，用过去分词就更简洁，这里的them只能是CHAMBERS）
这道题了解应该选E，但是在OG的解释中D选项说them指代tourists,所以错误，但是根据逻辑意思them是指代chambers的，为什么要说them是指代tourists呢？而且E选项不是也同样用了“within them”为什么就没有指代问题呢？
In 1527 King Henry VIII sought to have his marriage to Queen Catherine annulled so as to marry Anne Boleyn.
答案表示原文是错误的，一些语法书说so as to前面只能有一个人，不然会指代不明，但是这道题根据意思也能理解king Henry是想取消与C的婚约，然后娶A，为什么OG上的解释说“it does not identify who will marry”呢？
二． 修饰问题
Reporting that one of its many problems had been the recent extended sales slump in women's apparel，the seven-store retailer said it would start a three-month liquidation sale in all of its stores．
(A) its many problems had been the recent （答案）
自己认为recent应该变为recently，但是答案解释说recent是修饰extended sales slump的。
--------这道题目的关键是one of its many不正确，就是many problems都从销售下降发生的。
另外，recent可以作为连续的两个形容词修饰sales slump. Recently不对。
OG上还有一道相似的题与其矛盾：
His studies of ice-polished rocks in his Alpinehomeland, far outside the range of present-day glaciers, led Louis Agassiz in 1837 to propose the concept of an age in which great ice sheets had existed in now currently temperate areas.
虽然原句并不正确，但是针对有current temperate areas的选项 ，答案说应该是currently，按照上一题的解释，为什么在这句话就不能将current看作是修饰temperate areas的呢？这两道题是否矛盾呢？
---------不对，上一题是修饰extended，这个形容词是变形的，所以前面用recent是很正常的，这里，temperate作为非变形词，前面可以也可以不用副词，但是OG的含义是：建议使用，更规范一些。
个人认为如果两个形容词即使是并列，也应加逗号，
------很多时候不加逗号，要注意变形词，如beautiful exciting news, recent hidden figures.
不应有recent extended sales的形式出现，要么把recent变成副词或是两个形容词之间加逗号，而且逗号形式在OG中也出现过，如11-78题only if it is taught as a separate，required course。
-----加逗号都是很正规和古板的用法，因而都正确，但是不一定说不用逗号就错了。
三． Wordy，awkward
在OG解释中，好多选项错误是因为”wordy,awkward”，但是总觉得这样判断主观色彩很强，不知为什么就wordy了
----wordy就是麻烦，读起来很纠结。这点你们要注意体会。
That educators have not
anticipated the impact of microcomputer technology can hardly be
said that it is their fault: Alvin Toffler, one of the most
prominent students of the future, did not even mention
microcomputers in Future Shock, published in 1970.
-----太纠结了吧。肯定是出题人故意前后颠倒的。
(C) It can hardly be said that it is the fault of educators who have not anticipated the impact
of microcomputer technology （it is ….that 就完了，不需要连续两个it is that it is the fault）
(D) It can hardly be said that educators are at fault for not anticipating the impact of microcomputer technology
（多好！！！）
答案是D，但是为什么C就是wordy呢，个人认为C表述的也很清楚。(是吗，你说说第二个it指代什么？强调句？我认为纠结了)
In a 5-to-4 decision，the Supreme Court ruled that two upstate New York counties owed restitution to three tribes of Oneida Indians for the unlawful seizure of their ancestral lands in the eighteenth century．（这句话没错啊）
(A) that two upstate New York counties owed restitution to three tribes of 0neida Indians for the unlawful seizure of（正确）
(B) that two upstate New York counties owed restitution to three tribes of Oneida Indians because of their unlawful seizure of （because of 错误，这里没有因果关系，for 是指基于这件事，because 就变成了因果解释了，如，基于撞车，A和B怎样怎样，但这里，到底是谁错？没有说。题目这里也是同样的意思。）
不明白B选项的错误原因，认为for与because of 可以替换。
