美研究发现一种常见化合物能抑制艾滋病病毒

新华网华盛顿3月5日电 美国科学家最新研究发现,一种常用于食品和化妆品中的廉价化合物,可以帮助猴子阻断猴免疫缺陷病毒(即猴子版本的艾滋病病毒)的传播。这一发现有望为人类预防艾滋病病毒感染提供新方法。
明尼苏达大学研究小组在5日出版的新一期英国《自然》杂志上报告说,他们在以雌猴为对象进行的实验中发现,月桂酸单甘油酯(简称GML)可以有效帮助雌猴避免感染猴免疫缺陷病毒(SIV)。
实验中,研究人员选了10只雌猴分为两组,给其中5只雌猴的阴道注入一种含有月桂酸单甘油酯的凝胶处理液,另外5只作为对照组。然后,这些猴子体内均被注入一定剂量的SIV病毒。
随后两个星期的观察显示,对照组5只猴子全部感染了SIV,而使用月桂酸单甘油酯处理过的猴子只有1只被感染。
月桂酸单甘油酯是天然存在于一些植物中的化合物,提取之后经常作为杀菌剂及消炎剂添加到食品、日用品或化妆品中。《自然》杂志介绍说,此前也曾有研究小组尝试用不同的杀菌剂抑制艾滋病病毒感染,但效果均令人失望,而月桂酸单甘油酯则表现出了明显的抑制艾滋病病毒的效果。
研究小组强调说,月桂酸单甘油酯的最大优势在于它十分廉价,一旦证实也能有效阻断人体艾滋病病毒传播,就有望研制出便宜的、用于女性的艾滋病预防药物。另外,除了艾滋病以外,这种化合物可能还有阻断其他性传播疾病感染的作用。
不过,他们也表示,利用月桂酸单甘油酯进行人体临床试验前,还需要进行大量实验分析工作。
