本报讯 (记者郑灵巧)2月22日在京举行的亚洲艾滋病疫苗研究区域协商会议披露，中国的艾滋病疫苗研究具有自己的创新点，目前正在开展世界上唯一的活载体艾滋病病毒疫苗临床试验。出席此次会议的2008年诺贝尔奖获得者弗朗索瓦丝·巴尔—西诺西教授称，中国科学家只要以新思路探索，就可以在艾滋病疫苗领域作出贡献。
根据大会报告，尽管中国艾滋病疫苗研究起步较晚，但目前已进行了系统的全国艾滋病病毒分子流行病学和自然史的研究，研制了多种艾滋病病毒候选疫苗，开展了几项艾滋病疫苗的I期临床试验。根据全球第一个成功的慢病毒疫苗研发技术，中国科学家探索建立并改造了艾滋病病毒疫苗抗原的新技术路线。
弗朗索瓦丝教授在会议间隙接受记者采访时说，艾滋病疫苗研究非常困难。10年~15年以前就有人预计5年内可以研制成功艾滋病疫苗，但至今仍没有成功，目前很难预测艾滋病疫苗研制成功的时间。科学家所面对的艾滋病病毒及其感染所引起的免疫反应都非常复杂。以传统的疫苗研究方法研制艾滋病疫苗不会成功。目前特别需要将传统方法和新的研究理念结合起来。
据悉，此次亚洲艾滋病疫苗区域协商会议由世界卫生组织、联合国艾滋病规划署、全球艾滋病疫苗企业计划、美国国立卫生研究院和中国疾病预防控制中心共同举办。
